How to get and stay focused with your Networking/Home-Based Business

Get focused

One of the primary reasons people turn to the home-based business world is freedom. Freedom from sitting at a desk for 8 hours; Freedom from being told when you are hungry and when you can go to lunch; Freedom from being rushed taking a 15 minute break. That doesn’t sound like freedom to me at all.
Along with the new freedom that comes with working at home we encounter a number of distractions. Some of the most common distractions are chores and projects around the house, interruptions from family and friends and phone calls.

Below are some tips on how to get and stay focused while working at home.

*You always need to remember why you are working at home. You are there to make money while experiencing a lifestyle of freedom. If you let yourself get caught up in the distractions you won’t be successful with your business. Keep your ‘why’ in front of you at all times.
*When you are working an 8 to 5 job you are on a time clock and you are expected to work during those hours. Make out a schedule for yourself and do your best to stick with it. Of course, it is much more flexible but do your best to stay on schedule. Most interruptions can wait and your success depends on it.
*Family interruptions can be difficult at times. You have to remember that success won’t happen without productivity. If you have small children work can often be done during nap time or when they go to bed at night. When dealing with a spouse or older family member tell them that it’s important that you work at certain times of the day. Explain to them that you are doing this to better the family.
*Answering phone calls and e-mails can be another distraction. Limit yourself to working on these things during certain times of the day. Don’t get in the habit of constantly answering e-mails and phone calls sporadically during the day. It will take much more time that way.
*Don’t get caught up in activities that are not income producing activities. It’s easy, for example, to get side-tracked while on social media by talking to someone online (not business related).  That is ok, but don’t let it take up too much of your time. That doesn’t produce income.
To be successful as a home-based business owner you have to have a set goal, a strong ‘why’ and a consistent work ethic.

Using these tips start today by improving your focus!
